It’s only one month till Christmas! Which means Sydney is just about to spring into life with lights, carols, Santa and presents.
To celebrate the silly season this year you don’t need to spend a fortune. There are some fantastic free Christmas events in Sydney this year with something for everyone to enjoy.
1. Darling Harbour Christmas Festival
Darling Harbour puts on a mega Christmas display with loads of free activities. Be amazed by the giant Christmas bauble, enjoy the light displays, catch a free Christmas movie and don’t miss the free fireworks every Saturday night (weather pending).

2. Lights of Christmas at St Mary’s Cathedral
Celebrating it’s 10th year the Lights of Christmas is a Christmas spectacular not to be missed. Enjoy food trucks, Christmas Carols and lighting of the Cathedral at 8.30pm each night. This year to celebrate their 10th anniversary there will also be some surprises for all guests.
Dates: 5 December 2019 to Wednesday 25 December 2019
Times: Every day, 5:00pm to 11:00pm (food trucks open at 5.00pm, choirs perform 7.30pm and lightshow at 8.30pm)

3. Martin Place Christmas Tree and Carols
Sydney’s most amazing Christmas tree will bring Christmas cheer from 23 November to 1 January 2020. The tree will light up every 15 minutes from 7.00pm to midnight every day! Visitors will be amazed by the 110,000 LED lights, a 3.4-metre colour-changing star and 330 specially created glossy baubles. If you come along on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday you will also be able to sing along to Christmas Carols with Choirs in the City.
Enjoy a kaleidoscope of colours and decorative lights every 15 minutes from 7.00pm to midnight every day.

4. David Jones Christmas Display
The David Jones magical Christmas windows are back!

5. The Rocks Christmas Markets and Christmas Lane
Christmas is a romantic time in The Rocks. Enjoy the Rocks Christmas Markets plus have a wander through Kendall Lane which has been transformed into a wonderland filled with an array of Christmas delights.

6. QVB Christmas Tree
The famous Queen Victoria Christmas Tree is an astonishing 24 metres and is spread over 3 floors. It resides under the famous QVB Dome and is Sydney’s tallest Christmas tree.
Shoppers will be enchanted by its nostalgic beauty with over 100,000 ornaments, 6,400 white rosebuds, and 65,000 twinkling lights topped by a dramatic wide crystal gilded star. This Christmas icon takes over 100 people to put together.
You can also enjoy Christmas Carols (check website for dates and times) at various times until December 25.

7. Frozen 2 Christmas at The Grounds
The Grounds of Alexandria is transforming into a magical place where you’ll wander through an enchanted forest and into a world of crystals. One of the newest Christmas Events in Sydney, this immersive Frozen 2 experience is sure to keep even the craziest of Frozen fans happy.
Frozen 2 at The Grounds will be open to the public from 28 November through to January 2020.
