22. Hire a canoe or kayak

What better day to go canoeing then the first day of Spring and Father’s Day. There are some great spots around Sydney including Lane Cove National Park, Bobbin Head, Crosslands Reserve, Penrith, and Bundeena.

23. Hire a BBQ Boat or a Tinnie and go exploring

BBQ boats are a whole lot of fun! I will admit they aren’t free, but for a Fathers Day splash out they are a great idea. Tinnie’s are also a great idea and are much cheaper. So why not pack a picnic and have lunch on a secluded beach – sounds amazing! Great spots to head to are Berowra Waters, The Hawkesbury, Booker Bay and Como.

24. Barrenjoey Lighthouse Walk

This is such a beautiful walk and Palm Beach is a great place to spend a day. To get to the top of the lighthouse you can either head up a bush trail or up a super easy, paved driveway.

25. Explore Bare Island

26. Visit the National Maritime Museum and explore Darling Harbour

The main area of the National Maritime Museums is free. You can’t enter the ships, but you can still admire them plus you can see all the permanent exhibitions at the museum – for free!

27. Visit Muogamurra Nature Reserve

Only Open for 6 weekends a year and one of those weekends this year includes Fathers Day. This magic spot is a great place to enjoy a bushwalk and a picnic with your family.

28. Explore a Rock Ledge

Rock Ledges are amazing places! Full of sea life and secret finds they are a delight for both adults and kids. My three favourite ones around Sydney are Norah Head, Long Reef and Collaroy.
