Can you believe we are half way through winter already! There are some great events to celebrate the occasion this weekend.

Why not celebrate Bastille Day or join in some amazing NAIDOC festivities? Enjoy a winter festival before they end or why not take part in the free family bike riding day at Centennial Park.

Saturday and Sunday 13 & 14 July

The Rocks Bastille Festival

A huge French festival with something for everyone. Free ice skating for kids, alpine village, entertainment, snow machines, Christmas trees and decorations, carols, lights and more! Enjoy french food and wine and winter market stalls.

Winter Festivals

Lots of other great winter festivals to enjoy this weekend including ice skating at St Mary’s Cathedral, Winterland Festival in Campbelltown, Kareela Village winter celebrations, Camden Winter Wonderland, Bondi Winter Magic, Winterlight Festival in Parramatta, ice skating at Rouse Hill and winter festivities at Luna Park.

Menangle Military Muster

The fourth annual Menangle Military Muster will be held at Campbelltown Steam & Machinery Museum. Enjoy military displays, food stalls, free BBQ facilities and re-enactments.

School holidays Train Rides at Illawarra Light Railway Museum

Take a trip back in time and enjoy the school holidays with a Train Ride. Have a BBQ, ride the trains and take that trip back in timed. Kids can also play on Puffin Billy.

The museum is also hosting a Christmas in July event on Sunday 14 July.

Fun 4 Kids NAIDOC Celebration

Fun 4 Kids ‘Warali Wali’ is a free NAIDOC inspired school holiday event for children to be held Friday 12 July from 10am to 2pm at Central Gardens, Merrylands. Warali Wali, meaning Possum in traditional Darug land owners language is a special NAIDOC celebration. The event explores the natural world and encourages children to get out and learn more about the environment.

NAIDOC in the City

NAIDOC in the City is a free celebration of the world’s longest living Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures Now in its seventh year, NAIDOC in the City will see some of Australia’s most renowned Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and dancers take to the stage. There’ll also be an earth oven and Indigenous themed food stalls, a healing tent, a marketplace selling local Indigenous art, craft and produce, weaving and jewellery-making workshops and a gallery of artworks that interpret this year’s NAIDOC Week theme.

Art on the Streets
