The Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of Australia’s leading art museums. The Art Gallery of New South Wales is located within beautiful parklands that overlook Sydney Harbour and it is only 15 minutes walk from the city centre.
The Gallery includes a huge array of Australian, Aboriginal, European, Asian and contemporary art. The exhibitions change regularly making repeat visits worthwhile. The Gallery also hosts the famous Archibald Prize exhibit each year.
There is both a restaurant and a cafe at the Gallery (which has a variety of seating – outdoor, indoor and rooftop). There is also a herb garden to enjoy. Or why not head to the Botanical Gardens afterwards for a pocket friendly picnic?
Patrons can enrol in workshops and tours are also run on a regular basis. There are also scheduled activities for kids and heaps of other FREE events for everyone.
Admission to the Gallery is FREE, and so are their permanent galleries and most exhibitions and events.
