Brays Bay Reserve (and McIlwaine Park) is a beautiful riverside area in Rhodes. It is an excellent park with great facilities.
Kids will enjoy the enclosed playgrounds and adults will enjoy the water views and free BBQ’s. The park is located on the former location of the WWII (1939-1945) Commonwealth Ship Building Yard. Visitors will see remnants of the yard throughout the reserve.
The Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway also departs from Brays Bay Reserve. This 800m walk is dedicated to all those who fought for Australia during World War II. The walkway includes photographic images of the Kokoda Campaign along with 22 audio stations that describe a place or military engagement.
The Olivetto’s Ristorante and Bar is also onsite.
