Hyde Park offers visitors and residents alike a beautiful green spot right in the middle of the CBD. Spanning 16 hectares, Hyde Park is Australia’s oldest park. The park is split in two with Park Street running through the middle (the two sections are known as Hyde Park north and Hyde Park south).
A great spot for a middle of the day sightseeing break, Hyde Park offers large grassy areas, benches and lots of large leafy trees to rest under.
The north side of the park offers the Archibald Fountain which was a gift from JF Archibald (who also gave Sydney the Archibald Prize for portraits).
The south side offers the ANZAC Memorial and the Pool of Reflection.
