The La Perouse Museum is now managed by Randwick Council . It is situated in a historic cable station that was built in 1881.
Visitors will enjoy learning about local Indigenous history and viewing a sea life photographic exhibition.
The museum also details the story of the French navigator Jean François de Galaup, comte de La Pérouse who arrived in Botany Bay in 1788. After 6 weeks his expedition left Australia never to be seen again. His shipwreck was found in 1927 in the Solomon Islands.
Visitors can also enjoy stunning views across the ocean and a tour of Bare Island.
