Macquarie Lighthouse is Australia’s first and longest operational navigational light source. Today the lighthouse is still used for it’s original purpose – being a guiding light to boats entering the harbour.
To the left and right of the lighthouse are the head keeper’s residence and assistant keeper’s quarters. Collectively, these buildings are referred to as ‘Macquarie Lightstation’.
Visitors are welcome to view the outside of the lighthouse at any time. The grounds are part of the 100km Great Coastal Walk.
Or book a tour through Harbour Trust. Tours run every two months and cost $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child.
