The Nan Tien Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere. The Temple is one of the branch temples of Fo Guang Shan which was founded in 1965. “Nan Tien” in Chinese means “Paradise of the South”.
Visitors are welcome to visit the Temple and experience the Buddhist religion. Walk the gardens and visit Lotus Pond.
Guests are also welcome to dine in the Dining Hall or the Dew Drop Inn Tea House.
Please note: The Temple has strict dress guidelines and rules which must be followed. Guidelines are as follows:
Please wear appropriate attire and be suitably covered i.e. no shorts, singlets or thongs.
Please remove shoes and hats before entering the shrines.
Children are to be supervised at all times.
Picnics are not allowed within the Temple grounds.
No meat, fish, non-vegetarian products or alcohol are to be brought into the Temple grounds.
No smoking is allowed within the Temple grounds.
No photography or video recording is permitted inside the buildings.
Pets are not allowed into the Temple grounds.
