Wentworth Common : situated along Haslam Creek, Wentworth Common offers BBQ’s and picnic spots, playground with flying fox and a great lookout across Homebush
Cathy Freeman Park: a nice picnic spot that is also near shared pathways for walking, running and cycling. There is also a playground and a selection of cafes and restaurants or why not enjoy some outdoor chess! The park is close to many of the Olympic Park highlights including the Olympic Cauldron.
Blaxland Riverside Park: a huge kids playspace that features a water park as well as some amazing kids play equipment. Enjoy a BBQ, wander the walking trails or enjoy lunch at the Gate House cafe.
Newington Armoury: is a historic precinct which is now a multi-use arts venue. Located right near the Blaxland Riverside Park, the Newington Armoury includes a theatre, amphitheatre, studio and exhibition space. Visit the Birdlife Discovery Centre, play Disc Golf or enjoy a Heritage Railway Discovery Tour. Visitors can also ride the Heritage Train and explore the huge parklands here
