The Goods Line offers a vital pedestrian and cycle connection between Ultimo and Darling Harbour. The path passes by some key buildings in including the ABC, UTS (including the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building) , TAFE and the Powerhouse Museum. The line is built along an old rail corridor that opened in 1855.
Along the line visitors will see rail tracks and sign posts explaining the history of the line. Visitors can also enjoy native plants (with mirrors reflecting their image back), picnic spots, grassy spaces as well as table tennis courts.
Kids will enjoy a kids playground and sand pit with water play.
Note: It can be tricky to find the Goods Line. The main access is at Central Station – follow the signs for the South Concourse and UTS through the Devonshire Street tunnel, beneath George Street and continue to Ultimo Road.
You can also access it from the Powerhouse Museum (Harris Street) or alternatively from Mary Ann Street next to the Dr Chau Chak Wing building.
