Warragamba Dam is Sydney’s primary water source. It supplies water to more than 5 million people in Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
The dam is an excellent day out with a lot of great activities to do both at the dam and in the surrounding areas.
The best thing to do at the dam is to walk the dam wall! However please note that the dam wall is only open on weekends and public holidays, between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
Visitors will also enjoy learning about the history of the dam at the Visitors Centre, which also has great activities for kids.
Enjoy a picnic and BBQ within the dam grounds.
On your way home why not stop into the town of Warragamba – if you head to Eighteenth Street there is a lookout that provides a view of the spillway and the dam wall. Open from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
Burragorang Lookout provides an amazing view of Lake Burragorang. It is a 40 minute drive from the dam but well worth the effort!
