Western Sydney Parklands is a HUGE park which is so big it runs through three local government areas of Sydney. The 5,280 hectare area is the largest urban parkland system in Australia, and one of the largest in the world.
The parks covers 27kms and being this big it truly does have something for everyone!
Key features of the park include:
Plough and Harrow: a picnic area that features a playground, with BBQ’s, shelters and cafe
Lizard log: another picnic area that features a nature playground and walking track with BBQ’s, shelters and often an on-site ice-cream van
The Dairy: a quieter location in the park (no playground!) that includes a track for walking or biking, shelters and BBQ’s
Sugarloaf Ridge and Moonrise Lookout: spectacular views over Western Sydney as well as picnic shelters. BYO BBQ
Bungarribee : AMAZING playground with BBQ’s, picnic shelters and dog friendly areas
Shale Hills: dedicated to walking and cycling Shale Hills is a scenic spot within the park
Nurragingy Reserve : features a water park as well as Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens. There are picnic shelters, wood BBQ’s (wood supplied) and multiple playgrounds
Wlyde MTB Trai l: with trails for everyone from kids to experienced riders, the Wlyde Mountain Bike Trail is very popular. Shelters available.
